ROBERT BARBIERI

Mr. Barbieri is the President and co-owner of Scott & Barbieri Family Funeral Homes with his wife, Maria. Mr. Barbieri graduated from Mercy College with a bachelor degree in Business and earned an applied science degree from American Academy McAllister in New York City. Mr. Barbieri has been accepted and licensed to practice as a funeral director in the State of New York and New Jersey. Prior to purchasing the Scott & Barbieri family of funeral homes, Mr. Barbieri served as funeral director and manager in two of the most prominent and renowned funeral homes in the United States, Riverside Memorial Chapel and Frank E. Campbell, The Funeral Chapel, both in New York City. Mr. Barbieri brings this superior level of professional excellence to all that we do at Scott & Barbieri Family Funeral Homes to ensure that each family that turns to us receives unparalleled service and care.
Bob is a communicant of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and member of its Bereavement Committee. He is also a board member of the LaSalle School in Albany, and a member of the Fort Orange Club and Wolfert’s Roost.
 


MARIA SCOTT BARBIERI
Licensed Funeral Director
since 2006

Maria is the co-owner of Scott & Barbieri Family Funeral Homes with her husband, Robert. She received a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1987, a JD from Brooklyn Law School in 1994 and an Applied Science degree from Hudson Valley Community College in 2005. Maria serves on the board of several area non profit organizations. She is a current member of the Community Hospice Board of Directors, former Chairperson of the Community Hospice Foundation, and former Vice-Chair of the Board. Maria is a frequent contributor to the Scott & Barbieri sponsored Hospice Hour broadcast monthly on Talk 1300 radio. Maria has been active in the Albany Rotary since 2002 and serves as the Sergeant at Arms, Chairperson of the Charity Committee, and Rotary Foundation Board Member. Ms. Scott-Barbieri is a communicant of St Pius X and is active in the Albany Diocese as a board member of the Evangelist, and member of the Ladies of Charity.


COURTLAND ANDREWS
Licensed NY State Funeral Director
since 1957

Courtland Andrew also comes from a long line of funeral directors starting with his grandfather in 1901. Since then the Baxter-Andrew Funeral Home has served the community for generations and is a proud part of the Scott & Barbieri Family. Courtland is a past Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons in the State of New York. He currently serves as a Director of the Royal Arch Medical Research Committee and the Tuberculosis Fund Committee. He is also a long-time member of the Schenectady East Rotary Club. He is currently a member of the Woodlawn Reformed Church and has served as a past Deacon.


WILLIAM MORGAN
Licensed NYS Funeral Director
since 1961

Bill Morgan has been with The White Funeral for 45 years working with the original owner, George E. White. Mr. Morgan is a graduate of Simmons School of Mortuary Science and has studied at Union College and Syracuse University. Mr. Morgan is a long time member of the Scotia Rotary Club chairing several committees throughout the years. He is also a member of the Guan-Ho-Ha Fishing and Game Club and Scotia/Glenville Elks Lodge and a social member of the Scotia Volunteer Fire Department. He has lectured at local senior centers and churches on Pre-Arranging Funerals. Mr. Morgan is the manager of The White Funeral Home.


RICHARD CLARK
Licensed NY State Funeral Director
since 1961

Richard C. Clark has been with the Tebbutt Funeral Home for 30 years before it became part of the Scott & Barbieri Family. He is a graduate of the Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse, NY. He is past president and current member of the Bethlehem Lions Club; the past president and current member of the Moosewood Sportsman’s Club of Saratoga and Wilcox Lake, NY and a member of the Bethlehem Lodge #85 Free and Accepted Masons. He is a member of the Slingerlands Community United Methodist Church. Mr. Clark is the manager of our Albany funeral homes.


CRAIG SULLIVAN
Licensed NYS Funeral Director

since 1962

Mr. Sullivan is a multi generational funeral director with a lifetime of experience serving the Glens Falls and Queensbury community. As his family did before him, Mr. Sullivan employs a tradition of understanding and empathy in his life’s work as a funeral director. In doing so, Craig honors the memory of the Sullivan family legacy and embraces the Scott & Barbieri standard of care. Craig is the manager of the Sullivan Minahan & Potter Funeral Home.


TERRY VANVALKENBURGH
Licensed NYS Funeral Director
since 1965

Terry VanValkenburgh is a third generation funeral director at the Griswold Funeral Home, which was started by his grandfather, Mr. Griswold. Terry learned the importance of funeral service from both his grandfather and his father, Mr. VanValkenburgh. Since 1933 the Griswold/VanValkenburgh family has served the Schenectady Community with sensitivity and understanding.

Terry is the past president of the NYS Funeral Directors Association and currently serves on its Board of Directors. He was on the formation committee to bring Hospice to the Schenectady Community and serviced as its first president. He is the District VP of the Woodlawn Neighborhood Association, a past president and current member of the Schenectady East Rotary Club, and a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady. Mr. VanValkenburgh is the manager of Griswold Funeral Home.

MICHAEL MAY
Licensed NYS Funeral Director
since 1993

Michael is a graduate of SUNY Canton College where he received an AS degree in Mechanical Engineering and an AS in Mortuary Science. Michael is uniquely trained in the funeral rites and rituals of diverse cultures and religions. He is a devout Roman Catholic, a communicant of St John the Evangelist and the proud father of five children. Michael is also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians of America, Division One, in Schenectady, and the Irish American Club.


CONNIE GOEDERT
Licensed NYS Funeral Director
since 2001

Connie joined the Scott & Barbieri Family in 2003. She is a life-long resident of Warren County and has served as a Councilperson for the Town of Queensbury. Before joining the funeral home, she worked for the Warren County Sheriff’s Dept and was a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Queensbury Central Volunteer Fire Company. She is currently a member of the Queensbury Elks Club. Ms. Goedert works in our South Glens Falls and Queensbury offices.


CASSIDY VONSTETTINA
Licensed NYS Funeral Director
since 2001

Cassidy has been with Scott & Barbieri Family Funeral Homes since 2005. Cassidy has particular expertise in funeral advanced planning and is uniquely qualified to assist families with Medicaid/SSI pre-arrangement strategies. Cassidy is a frequent community lecturer on the benefits and strategies of pre- planning funeral arrangements. She is a member of the NYSFDA and the NYSFD Finger Lake Association. Cassidy is a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist in Schenectady and is the mother of twins.


CHRISTOPHER SORBERO
Licensed NYS Funeral Director
since 2006

Christopher joined the Scott & Barbieri family in 2006 after recently graduating from Hudson Valley Mortuary Science Program. He is a current member of St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls, a member of the Italian American Club and the Knights of Columbus, both of Queensbury, NY. He is an avid sportsman and works in our South Glens Falls and Queensbury offices.


WALTER WILLIAM ECK
Licensed NYS Funeral Director
since 2007

Walter “Will” Eck is our newest director having recently graduated from Hudson Valley School of Mortuary Science in 2006. He is former member of the Slingerlands Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Eck is an avid rugby player and participates in rugby tournaments throughout New York State. He is a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar, NY and is a volunteer with St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church and St. Pius X Church in Loudonville, NY.


DAVIA BOYLE
Bereavement Service Coordinator
since 2004

Davia Boyle is a graduate of the Maria College Bereavement Studies Certification Program and has served as the Bereavement Coordinator for Scott & Barbieri since 2004. Davia is the only Certified Funeral Celebrant in the greater capital district, having completed two levels of advanced training at the Insight Institute in Oklahoma City, OK. She is also a member of the American Association of Bereavement and the Capital District Bereavement Network and a volunteer with the Community Hospice.
