Biography
Louise V. LaPoint, 83, of Glenville, NY, passed away with her loving family by her side on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a short illness. Born on August 30, 1926 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Donato and Nicoletta Valentino Giaquinto. Louise attended local schools and worked various jobs throughout her life in the local area until her retirement. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Besides her parents and five siblings, Louise was predeceased in 1988 by her husband, James R. LaPoint, whom she married on April 25, 1948; and in 2005 by her son, Donald LaPoint. Survivors include her daughter, Anita (Anthony) Rossler of Scotia; her son, Joseph LaPoint of Schenectady; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at The White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave, Scotia. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
