Alfred Earl Kline

Alfred Earl Kline, 84, of Schenectady, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2010.
Born in Amsterdam on August 29, 1925, he was the son of the late Benjamin S. and Carrie (nee: Feltis) Kline. He was raised and educated in Amsterdam and a graduate of Amsterdam High School. He continued his education at Bentley University in Boston, MA. During WWII, Alfred proudly served with the US Navy. Alfred was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Scotia where he served as Treasurer and President of the Council.
He was employed by General Electric Co. for many years and was successful in the completion of courses that were offered through the company. He retired as a manager in accounting finance and inventory control in 1986. Following retirement, he and his wife enjoyed 21 years of their lives in Florida.
Alfred enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing bridge.
Married on September 7, 1947, he is survived by his wife, Lois (nee: Van O'Linda) Kline. He is also survived by his children, Gary (Karen) Kline of Crystal Lake, IL, Wayne (Madeline) Kline of Knoxville, TN, Roy (Sheryl) Kline of Glens Falls, NY, Kevin (Ruth) Kline of Hendersonville, NC and Eric Kline of Colonie, NY; 1 brother, Harry (Mary) Kline of Richmond, VA; 2 sisters, Mary (Kenneth) Mochrie of Ft. Meyers, FL and Alice (Ronald) Jankunas of Glendale, AZ; 11 Grandchildren, Kimberly (Richard) Vosilla, Brittany (John) Starr, Lindsay, Abigail, Chadd, Travis, Elissa and Kendra Kline, Erin (C.J.) Goodwin and Zachary and Benjamin Kline; 3 great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Dominic Vosilla and Anna Starr; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Francis Kline.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 103 South Reynolds St., Scotia followed by interment in Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
