Biography
John J. Myra, 62, of Glenville, NY, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at his home after a long illness. Born in New York City on June 27, 1947, he was the son of Amelia (nee:Kozak) Myra of New York City and the late John Myra. He was raised and educated in the New York City school system, moving to the local area in 1997. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Schenectady. He was employed for a short time at Albany County Nursing Home and then went to work for CDPC in Albany, retiring in 2009 due to his illness. In addition to his father, John was predeceased by his son, James Anthony Myra. John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda (nee: Coaxum) Myra, whom he married on August 3, 1968; three sons, Joceyn McLaughlin of Brooklyn, Joseph Myra of Glenville and Javin (Towania) Myra of Schenectady; three brothers, Donald Myra of OH, Paul Myra of NYC and William Myra of FL; one sister, Darlene Delia of NYC; three grandchildren, Javin Xavier Myra, James Anthony and Javen John Joseph Myra and their mother, Annie Brandalino. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1720 Albany St., Schenectady, NY.
