Biography
Robert Brougham, 70, of Schenectady, NY passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday March 2, 2010 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
Born on September 24, 1939 in Schenectady, NY he was the son of the late John and Elsa Wilber Brougham. Robert was a lifelong Schenectady resident and a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. He served with the United States Navy.
He was employed with Sears Department Store for over 39 years until his retirement in 2001. After his retirement Robert returned to Sears working part time over the past two years.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Marion Desbois.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Ruth Brougham whom he married on July 13, 1968; his 5 children, John Dwyer of San Francisco, CA, Jennifer Brougham of Fairfax, VA, Kiley (Anthony) Lanaro of Rotterdam; Megan (Stefano) Cianfarani of Schenectady; and Andrew (Sabrina) Brougham of Schenectady; a brother, James Brougham of Clifton Park; 4 sisters, Dorothy Williams of Lisle, IL, Marjorie Aernecke of Cobleskill, Jacqueline (Joseph) Ambrozik of San Jose, CA, and Carole (John) Davis of Harrisburg, PA; 7 cherished grandchildren, Marina, Ryan and Gino Lanaro, Elyse, Gaetano and Francesca Cianfarani, and Ethan Brougham; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady. Burial will follow in Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the National MS Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
