Doug was one of the nicest people I ever met. I had the pleasure of working with him at Great Meadow and Washington C.F. He had a hearty laugh and a helping hand for anyone at anytime. I know he will be missed greatly by his family. I was glad to know him and I am saddened by his passing. May he rest in peace.
Doug was one of the best and nicest people I ever worked with and it was a distinct and absolute pleasure to have known him. He will be missed by all. God speed my friend.
Sorry to hear about Doug - friend and neighbor. My best to his family.
Respectfully,
Dave
To Rebecca Bailey-Sternfeld and the rest of the William's family. I'am saddened of your loss of a great family man and co-worker. Doug was a gentle giant with a heart that matched. He taught me a lot about working in the prison system and his life ended way too soon for such a good man. God Bless, he will be remembered fondly!
To the Williams family, my thoughts and prayers go out to you in this time of sorrow, Godspeed Doug!!!

Being a good ole Granville girl I have several memories of the Williams family. As a young girl I grew up watching them, Doug included, hang out at John Ross' grocery store. I know how very close you were then and I know that has never changed. You were a big family that had a ton of fun and shared your love with everyone who crossed your paths. I will always remember Doug for his amazing smile and the kindness he showed me as a young girl. I am so very sorry for your loss but so grateful that you have such an abundance of wonderful memories to uplift you at this time! Donna
Doug, thank you for all your kindness and patience you gave us as rookies. You where always there for all of us no matter what. Rest with the lord my brother you surely deserve it. My families prayers are with all of you.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the Williams' family. Doug will be missed so much. It's obvious He touched so many lives. I was so moved when I read his obituary. Doug loved his family and friends and "always had room for one more". Wow his Maker is so very happy with his works here on earth. Love to all the Williams' family. You are just like family to me. God bless you all.

Not just my biggest brother but my friend.
To the entire Williams Clan-
I was very saddened to read of Doug's passing. My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
RIP Doug
Dearest Big Brother,
How does one say goodbye to the person who taught him so much. Who taught me to look both ways, before we crossed the street, held my hand when we did, showed me how to whistle, ride a bike, a horse, tie my shoe and loved me unconditionally. Who named a son after me. Dougie even as you laid dieing you hugged me to dry my tears, aloways the big brother, Be with Mom and Dad now but know with every breath I take you too shall live..I will ALWAYS LOVE YOU AND CARRY THE VALUES YOU TAUGHT ME FOREVER....SOCTT
My mom, Dot, used to babysit the Williams children , Dickie, Davie, Douggie,Darcey, Dana and Damon when I lived on Bulkley Ave. in Granville. Their parents, Dick and Dot, were loving, caring and generous people who passed on these traits to Doug with his Welch heritage. I have fond memories living on the street with this family.
