Biography
Scotia - Lucille H. Edwards, 89, passed away Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Baptist Health Center, Scotia. She was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Edwards. Lucille worked for General Electric for 36 years as a Glass Operator before retiring in 1977. Lucille was a member of Emmanuel-Friedens Church, Woman's Guild, President of Church, and General Electric Quarter Century Club. She was also an accomplished ballroom dancer and danced across the country.
Lucille is survived by her sister, Leta Miller; nephews, Harry Vanderhule, Robert Flynn, Gary Roberts, and Richard Edwards; nieces, June Schermerhorn,Lucille Rowledge,Anita Edwards,Barbara Macicia and Lillian Niedhammer; and great-nephew, Bruce Rowledge. She is predeceased by long-term friend, Dom Friello and sister, Esther "Mom" Kahler. The family would like to give special thanks to Duke Friello, June Brehm and Baptist Health Center for the wonderful care and kindness they showed Lucille.
A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at the White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave (Rt.50), Scotia. Relatives and friends are invited to call, Monday, 4 to 6 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Memory's Garden Cemetery, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lucille's memory to a charity of ones choice.
