Biography
Cecil L. Hart Sr. 88 of Queensbury was taken by the angels to meet Our Lord on Monday, February 1, 2010. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Glens Falls Hospital.
He was born on August 6, 1921 in Cranberry Creek, North Broadalbin New York.
Cecil married the love of his life, Elsie A. Townsend on October 6, 1940. They shared a happy life and family for 44 years until Elsie was taken to Heaven by Our Lord on November 12, 1984
Cecil served our country in the United States Navy as a C.B. in Okinawa during WWII.
He then went on to work for Niagara Mohawk and retied after 40 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family. He spent many days gardening and landscaping at his second home in Fish House. He liked going to dinner with family and friend and listening to bluegrass music.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence W. Hart, a brother Floyd Hart, a sister Virginia (Hart) Laville, and a daughter Virginia A. (Hart) Allen. He also lost his wonderful companion of 17 years Elizabeth Hart in September 2009.
Cecil is survived by two sons, Cecil L. (Sonny) Hart Jr. and his wife Gail of Queensbury, William C. Hart Sr. and his wife Marge of Florida, a daughter Deborah J. Hunt and her companion William Burnham of Corinth, and a son-in-law Roger Allen of North Carolina. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and his second family in Fish House, the entire family of Elizabeth Hart, also survive Cecil.
Cecil will always be remembered as the greatest and best husband, dad, grandfather, brother, and friend to all that knew him.
Many Special thanks to Julie Ann Pliscofsky and Amy Miele at Glens Falls Hospital. They went above and beyond taking care of Cecil. Because of them we got to share some wonderful moments with Cecil that many not have been.
Family and friends are invited and may call from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm on Friday February 5, 2010 at Regan and Denny Funeral Home 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury. Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery Quaker road Queensbury.
