Biography
Joseph "Arthur" Bazinet
Ballston Spa - Joseph "Arthur" Bazinet, 84, of Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa, passed away into eternal life on Saturday evening, January 30, 2010.
Arthur was born March 9, 1925 in Glens Falls, the son of the late Joseph E. and Elizabeth M. Bazinet.
He grew up in Glens Falls and lived here until 1989 when he entered ARC.
Arthur was a gregarious person who loved to be with people. He was very outgoing and friendly and had a great sense of humor.
Arthur was active in St. Alphonsus Church Usher Association for many years and truly enjoyed being a church usher. He also looked forward to attending their monthly meetings and serving as an usher at weekend liturgies.
Besides his parents Arthur was predeceased by his nephew Paul A. Bazinet who passed away on January 3, 2010.
Survivors include his brother, Deacon William Bazinet and his wife Natalie of Glens Falls, his niece Julie Clum and her husband Scott of Cleveland, Ohio, his nephew, Joseph Bazinet and his wife Ann of Glens Falls, his nephew, Andrew Bazinet and his companion Lori Etu of South Glens Falls, and his niece in-law Devon Bazinet, widow of Paul Bazinet of Glens Falls. He is also survived by his great nephews Peter Clum, Stephen Bazinet, and a great niece, Dominique Bennett, as well as several cousins.
Relatives and friends may call at St. Alphonsus Church, Broad Street, Glens Falls from 10:00-11:00 on Friday February 5, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Thomas Babiuch, assisted by Arthur's brother Deacon William Bazinet.
Spring burial will take place at St. Alphonsus Cemetery .
Arthur's family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of floor 3-B at Maplewood Manor for the loving care they provided these last several years.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do say may contribute to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of their choice in Arthur's memory.
