Fort Hudson
Fay Starr Bussing Duffy, 101 of Fort Hudson Nursing Center, formerly of Robert Gardens passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010.
Born on September 26, 1908 in Minaville, NY, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Anna (Rogers) Bussing. She was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and Reynolds Business School.
In 1936, she married John Arthur Duffy at St. Mary's in Amsterdam, NY. She lived in Amsterdam and Schenectady raising two daughters. When her daughters were grown, she returned to work at Holzhimer & Shaul and later at State Bank of Albany, now Bank of America.
Fay was a beautiful person who touched many lives with her gentle kindness, friendly demeanor and generosity. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who centered her life on her family, faith, and friends.
Fay was predeceased by her husband who died in 1956, a sister Elizabeth Clark, and a son in-law W. Norman Charles.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth A. Charles of Queensbury, and Patricia Milot and husband Charles of Trumbull, CT, seven grandchildren, Catherine Rice and her husband William, William Charles and his wife Gretchen, Jennifer Martin and her husband Raymond, John Charles, Anne Spillane and her husband Richard, Charles Milot and his wife Alix and Nancy Brown and her husband William, fourteen great grandchildren, two cousins, Norma Bowman and John Rogers of Amsterdam, and a sister-in-law Margaret Duffy of Fort Edward and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am on Thursday February 4, 2010 at St. Mary's Church, Warren Street, Glens Falls, NY.
Burial will be follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
There are no calling hours scheduled.
The Family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the Fort Hudson Nursing Center who provided kind and loving care and became like her family.
